Electric Fence Questions — Answered
The cost depends on the fence type and perimeter length. As a guide:
Top wall electric fence: KES 1,050–1,250 per metre, fully installed. A standard 50×100 Nairobi plot (approximately 300m perimeter) costs from KES 85,000 including the energizer, battery backup, lightning protection, earth rods, and KEBS warning signs.
Free-standing electric fence: KES 2,200–2,400 per metre — higher because it includes posts, foundations, and more wire strands than a wall-top.
Solar farm fence: KES 1,600–1,800 per metre, including the solar panel, battery, charge controller, treated wooden posts, and Stafix or JVA energizer.
ClearVu anti-climb mesh: KES 11,000–13,000 per metre for the full mesh panel, posts, and installation. This is a premium product with a 20+ year lifespan.
Yes. Electric fences are fully legal in Kenya when installed according to the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) guidelines. The key requirements are: use only KEBS-approved energizers, display clearly visible warning signs at regular intervals along the fence, ensure the energizer delivers a safe non-lethal pulse (maximum energy per pulse as specified by IEC 60335-2-76), and ensure proper earthing and lightning protection are installed.
All our installations are carried out to full KEBS compliance. We include genuine warning signs, proper earthing, and certified energizers in every installation.
Yes — all the energizers we install include a built-in battery backup that keeps the fence live for up to 24 hours during a power outage. This is a standard feature on all Nemtek, JVA, and Stafix energizers we supply.
For properties in areas with very frequent or extended outages — or for remote farms — we install solar-powered energizers that run continuously without any mains electricity at all. Solar farm energizers from Stafix and JVA are our recommendation for any property more than 5km from a reliable KPLC supply.
Standard residential wall-top fence (50×100 plot): typically completed in one day by a team of two technicians.
Large commercial property (500m–1,500m perimeter): 2–4 days depending on complexity, gate cutouts, and integration requirements.
Farm fence installation (1km solar farm fence): 3–5 days including post holes, wire stringing, solar setup, and commissioning.
ClearVu / mesh fence: 5–10 days for 100–200m due to concrete post setting times.
All three are quality brands — the right choice depends on your application:
Nemtek (Wizord 2, Wizord 4, Druid range) is the most popular for residential and commercial security fencing in Kenya. The Wizord 2 (KES 19,500) is the standard choice for a Nairobi home. The Druid 15 LCD (KES 26,000) is recommended for larger commercial properties needing LCD monitoring and event logging.
Stafix (X2 to X18i and 46000W) is the specialist for farm and wildlife fencing — the Unigizer design runs on mains, battery, or solar interchangeably. The X6i (KES 78,000) is Kenya's most popular farm energizer.
JVA covers all three markets with purpose-built ranges — the Z18 (KES 42,000) for residential security with armed response integration, the MB12 IP Energizer® (KES 78,000) for farms with smartphone monitoring, and the JMB JUMBO (KES 260,000) for game parks and conservancies.
Yes — we provide installation, repairs, and maintenance nationwide. Common repairs we handle include: broken or cut fence wires, failed or damaged energizers, burnt-out battery backups, insulator replacements, grounding and earthing problems, and false alarm faults caused by vegetation growth.
We offer same-day repair response in Nairobi and Kiambu, and next-day response across most major towns. For regular maintenance, we offer annual service contracts (KES 8,000–15,000/year depending on fence length) that include a bi-annual inspection, voltage testing, insulator check, and written condition report.
To book a repair: WhatsApp +254 722 708034 with a brief description of the fault and your location.
